The United States may announce new arms orders for Ukraine worth $6 billion as early as today, an American official said, quoted by Reuters.

The military package could include anti-artillery radar, tactical vehicles, Patriot interceptor missiles, drones, artillery, precision munitions and anti-drone systems, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Earlier on Thursday, a Pentagon official was quoted as saying by Reuters that the US hoped the new arms shipments would help Ukraine rebuild its defenses and re-equip its forces as it recovers from the cut in US aid. However, he noted that Kiev is not expected to launch large-scale offensive operations against Russian forces in the near future.
