18 students won medals from the national round of the competition
18 students won medals from the national round of the “Best Young Builder” competition, which was held in Sofia. 16 teams participated in it, broadcast as champions of the regional rounds.
In the direction “Plasters, plasters and painting works”, a silver medal was won by Polina Stoyanova from the Faculty of Architecture, Construction and Geodesy “Arch. Kamen Petkov”. She managed to beat the competition and showed mastery in applying silicone plaster, embossed paint on a pre-primed plasterboard panel, decorative effect paint finish and latex paint finish.
In the “Dry Construction” section, Plovdiv students from PGASG – Victor Zhechev and Gabriel Mechkarov – took first place again. They had to first tackle the theory part, answering a 25-question test in 30 minutes, then build a KNAUF partition wall in two hours.
The competition was hosted by Sofia High School of Construction, Architecture and Geodesy “Hristo Botev”. The top-ranked students received certificates, medals, cups provided by the Ministry of Education and Culture, presented by the principal of the host high school, and prizes and gifts from the competition partners who evaluated the student competitors in the competition and national round stages.
