The Ministry of Health will provide free whooping cough vaccines to all pregnant women from 27 to 36 weeks of gestation, regardless of whether they have health insurance, this was made clear during a briefing with the participation of the Minister of Health, Dr. Galya Kondeva.
“An organization will be created at the RZI to carry out free immunizations for pregnant women,” she specified.
There are already over 500 registered cases in our country. Over 90% of them are in children.
“In Varna, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Pleven, Burgas, free PCR diagnostics will be done according to the criteria of the first case, severe cases, cases in organized groups, etc. This will lead to a reduction of the risk,” commented Assoc. Angel Kunchev.
After the Easter holidays, Bulgaria’s immunization calendar will also be updated. Vaccination against pertussis will be allowed to start earlier – from the sixth week.
