From September 1, the new vehicle documents for traveling by public transport in Sofia come into force. They give young people, schoolchildren, students and parents more opportunities to travel freely and economically with public transport.

Young people up to 26 years old, regardless of whether they are studying or working, they can take advantage of the benefits of the annual youth card. It costs BGN 250 and is for the entire network, including the metro. With it, the trip costs BGN 0.68 per day.

For the first time, an annual card for pupils and students is being introduced. It costs BGN 200 and applies to all public transport. With it, the daily unlimited movement comes out to BGN 0.54. The charge is one-time against a document from a school or university in Sofia, if the pupil or student enters the relevant educational institution for the first time. If he already had a card, he does not need to present a certificate. The current monthly card of BGN 20 is also retained.

There is also special support for young parents of children up to 2 years old. The parent who is on parental leave will now be able to use a monthly card worth BGN 10 for the entire public transport network. It is only necessary to present a certificate of his status at a CGM point.

The most sought-after and sold product for public transport – the annual subscription card will be able to be paid in 3 installments, instead of only two as it was until now. The first installment is an initial one valid for up to 3 months and is worth BGN 150; the second installment is for 3 months and is priced at BGN 120, and the third is up to 6 months and is BGN 100.
