Ukraine has approved a new package of sanctions against the Russian Federation, which includes 99 individuals and 178 legal entities from Russia and Belarus, the BBC reported.

It also contains measures against the daughters of Russian President Vladimir Putin – Katerina Tikhonova and Maria Vorontsova.

The package also targets Russian defense enterprises and employees of the Russian and Belarusian central banks.

It was announced by the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine.

The sanctions list includes companies and organizations that indirectly support the Russian military effort, such as some microelectronics suppliers.

The ministry statement did not name Putin’s daughters, but said the US had imposed sanctions on them as well. “From now on, the partner countries and Ukraine will synchronously apply the restrictions against the aggressor state and its supporters,” the press release quoted by “Meduza” says.

In early April, the US announced sanctions against “Putin’s adult daughters”. The European Union followed suit.

Until now, Putin has not officially recognized his relationship with Katerina Tikhonova and Maria Vorontsova, who the media have long considered to be the Russian president’s daughters. After the sanctions were imposed, however, the Kremlin said it would respond to the restrictions against Putin’s daughters and “will do so as it deems necessary.” In this way, the kinship of the president with Tikhonova and Vorontsova is actually confirmed.
