Borussia Dortmund won with the minimum 1:0 at home to Hoffenheim in the 5th round of the Bundesliga. The Red and Blacks got revenge on their fans as they lost 2-3 at Werder Bremen in their last home game despite leading 2-0.

Against Hofe, the hosts again came out ahead in the result. Marco Reus was exactly a quarter of an hour after the start. The captain’s goal was enough for the three points.

With the success, Borussia temporarily came out on top of the Bundesliga. The team has four wins in the first five rounds and has an asset of 12 points, 2 ahead of Bayern Munich and Union Berlin, who, however, have a game less.

After a stronger start, Westphalia took the lead in the 16th minute. Marco Reus was brought into a clear shooting position and with a nice shot he left no chances to the opposing goalkeeper. Doubts about an ambush remained, but after a VAR review, the regularity of the hit was confirmed.

Just three minutes later, Antoni Modeste missed a great opportunity to double the hosts’ lead. He intercepted a good cross into the penalty area, but was unable to direct the ball into the goal line.

In the 32nd minute, Borussia claimed a penalty for a handball on Ozan Kabak. The Chief Justice was speechless. He reviewed the situation via the video replay system, but did not change his first call decision.

The score remained unchanged until the break, and after the break Dortmund continued to dictate the events on the field. In the 67th minute, Thorgan Hazard missed the best opportunity to seal the win for his team. His shot was saved by Oliver Baumann.

In the minutes to the end, Hoffenheim took the lead. This left free spaces for the “yellow and black”. They organized several counter-attacks but never managed to score a second goal. Still, they kept their lead of 1:0 and greeted themselves with the full asset of three points.
