Check out Shoji Morimoto’s story

Shoji Morimoto provides a very unusual service. He rents himself out to do nothing. The 38-year-old is developing a successful career in Tokyo, which for many sounds like a dream job.

WANTED: The lucky guy to travel all summer for $15,000

In reality, Shoji is hired by clients who don’t want to be alone. He does not engage in conversation or do anything other than attend any event or activity for which he has been hired. However, he is in high demand, as he himself says that he sometimes has three engagements a day. Each is priced at 10,000 yen or $71.20.

Shoji started his unusual business in 2018 through an announcement on his Twitter account. He was unemployed at the time and decided that this was the easiest way to advertise his services. Since then, he claims to have received over 4,000 engagements and has over 200,000 followers on the social network.
