The founder of the SDS and leader of the Independent Society for the Protection of Human Rights in Bulgaria since the early 1990s now works as a janitor. He told this in the program “On Focus” on Nova TV.

He is the janitor of the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the BAS. “Some know who I am, others laugh, others ask why they don’t find me another job. I got married a second time and my son had to study. Now he has graduated and will start working, and I will stop working. I used to be and a security guard at the zoo, and my favorites were the Himalayan bear Desi, the rhinoceros Chico,” says Vodenicharov.

I also remember the first years of the 90s. In just 1 year after the founding of the SDS, he was disappointed by the “wild anti-communism and Russophobia” that gripped his former associates. He thinks that he has achieved democracy for himself – to travel freely and speak freely. Before 1989, he was not allowed to travel abroad, but he could have become a famous climber. Now he travels abroad and spends his free time in the Himalayas, at an altitude of 5-6000 meters, “without paying like mountaineers-smugglers”.

He says that if they had won the presidential elections in 1992, when he was a candidate for vice president as a runner-up to Velko Valkanov, supported by the BSP, they would not have allowed Bulgaria to join NATO.

“I made a partisan unit against NATO when there was a war in Serbia, but NATO did not descend on the ground from the air. We were looking for a place for a partisan camp in Serbia, I gave a list of partisans to the military attache of Serbia,” says Vodenicharov.

Now he tells the voters that “democracy is a bubble in which, if you fix your eyes, others confuse you and pick your pockets”. He no longer wanted democracy, but defined himself as a “cannon from a past war”.

“We have achieved our freedoms. Let the young people think about it. Our generation has gone through all the vicissitudes of the democratic transition, now it is up to the young to fight for their rights, for a new world order, because this one is not fair,” adds Vodenicharov and predicts that in the elections on October 3 no more than 27-28% will go to vote.
