The Ministry of Health, as a specific beneficiary under the Operational Program “Regions in Growth” 2014 – 2020, is implementing a large investment project for the modernization of emergency care BG16RFOP001-4.001-0001-C01 “Support for the development of the emergency medical care system”. It started on October 23, 2018 and will end by December 23, 2023. Its total budget is BGN 163,897,815.62, of which BGN 138,976,812.77 is provided by the European Regional Development Fund, BGN 24,525,319 , BGN 91 are national co-financing, and BGN 395,682.94 is the Ministry of Health’s own contribution.
The main goal of the project is to provide an appropriate and effective healthcare infrastructure, contributing to improving the quality and safety of medical care, including improving access for people with disabilities.
Within the framework of the project, 237 sites of the emergency medical care system will be renovated and modernized, which include the 27 centers for emergency medical care with their 170 branches, 6 outsourced teams in the municipalities, as well as the 34 emergency departments in the state medical facilities .
On September 20 (Tuesday), the Minister of Health, Dr. Asen Medzhidiev, will inaugurate the renovated and expanded Emergency Department of the Medical Center – Dobrich (city of Dobrich, 24 Panayot Hitov St.). The renovation and remodeling of this facility structure is part of the major investment project for the modernization of emergency care.
The mayor of the city, the regional governor, the chairmen of the Bulgarian Medical Union and the Regional College of the BLS – Dobrich, the directors of the CSMP – Dobrich, RZI – Dobrich, RZOK – Dobrich and MBAL – Dobrich, as well as representatives are invited to attend the event in Dobrich of the Management Board of the Operational Program “Regions in Growth” 2014 – 2020.
