Farmers, also dissatisfied with the high prices of cake, submit a declaration to the Council of Ministers of Agriculture from the EU
Grain producers from all over the country come out for a national protest. Farmers complain about the “uncontrolled import of grain from Ukraine”. Processions with agricultural machinery are expected in many places in the country, mainly Burgas, Dobrich and Yambol, Nova TV reports.
The producers insist on knowing where the Ukrainian grain is stored and above all that it should not be mixed with the Bulgarian production. The protest will also be directed against the high prices of fertilizers used to cultivate the soil.
The association of grain producers has united 12 members of the European Union under a common declaration, which will be submitted on September 15th at an informal council of EU agriculture ministers.
The protesters also want a reduction in the use of pesticides, as well as insisting on greater protection of the industry, reports BNT. In the Dobrich district, the discontent is also directed against the extraction of gas in Dobrudzha.
Farmers’ protest is planned to take place in 12 countries in Europe today and in the next two days.
