The Argentine police detained another person in connection with the failed attack on the vice president of the country Cristina Kirchner, reported France Presse, BTA reported.
The suspect, Nicolas Gabriel Carriso, is a close friend of Brenda Uliarte, the attacker’s girlfriend, who was also detained three days after the attack. According to forensic sources, an analysis of her phone suggests that she had an important role.
Carriso is a member of a group that Argentine media dubbed the “cotton candy gang” because they sold the commodity on the street. In the days before the attack, his stroller was seen in the vicinity of Kirchner’s residence, where hundreds of her supporters came to greet her. Investigators are looking into whether this may have been a preliminary survey.
Attacker Fernando Sabag Montiel, 35, and Brenda Uliarte, 23, are charged with attempted premeditated murder committed with complicity. Agustina Diaz, a friend of Uliarte, was also detained on Tuesday. The two talked about the attack on Kirchner.
In her testimony, Diaz stated that she did not believe that Uliarte really intended to do what she was talking about, reports TASS.
