Elizabeth II will not be buried with some famous jewels from her collection, but rather with those that have sentimental value to her. That’s according to an expert, who says her scepter and jeweled crown will not be placed in the casket, as some have suggested.

According to Lisa Levinson, Elizabeth II, who she calls too modest, most likely wished to be buried without shiny accessories. She tells Metro that what she will have on her are a pair of pearl earrings and her gold wedding ring, which she never took off during her lifetime.

The Queen’s wedding ring was on her mother’s hand for her wedding in 1923. It was then handed down to her, and since then it has been a tradition in the royal court for wedding rings to be made from Welsh gold.

Following Prince William’s engagement to Kate Middleton, who are no longer the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Queen presents her grandson and his chosen one with a piece of Welsh gold to be used in the making of their wedding rings.

The “World of Diamonds” expert also reveals that the late monarch’s engagement ring may be inherited by her daughter. Princess Anne, who was very close to the Queen, will surely keep the diamond-encrusted tiara jewel that belonged to Prince Philip’s mother Alice Battenberg the best.

The collection of Elizabeth II – with about 300 jewels

In Levinstone’s words, Her Majesty’s life “has always been linked to the legacy of the royal family in the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth”. Therefore, as an incredibly modest woman at heart, she would not wish to be buried with her most famous jewelsand will leave them for future generations.
