We should strive for the mix that “Bulgargaz” makes, importing natural gas, to be at better prices. That is where efforts should be directed. KEVR’s desire to cross-subsidize by diverting cheap Azeri gas to heating systems and households should be stopped, said the Chairman of the Board of the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria, Vasil Velev, in “The Day Begins”.
He explained that if this happens, the price for the heating companies will be BGN 60, and for the industry – BGN 335. He emphasized that in Bulgaria the industry is supplied at higher average prices compared to the prices for the industry in the EU. This is dooming the industry to closure, he pointed out.
The proposal is for the same price of BGN 248 per megawatt hour for October for everyone, Velev pointed out.
The mechanism is to have a fair price for the industry and help the energy poor, not to subsidize everyone, Velev is categorical.
