The match between the two teams in Sofia from the Davis Cup tournament will be opened with a match between the first racket of Bulgaria Dimitar Kuzmanov (No. 162 in the world ranking) and the second racket of South Africa Leighton Krone (unranked). This determined the draw for the World Group II match of the Men’s World Team Tennis Championship, which will be held on September 16-17 at the Bulgarian National Tennis Center (BNTC) in Borisova Garden.
In the second singles on Friday, our second racket Alexander Lazarov (#332) and the first choice of the South Africans Philip Henning (#1310) will face each other.
Saturday’s program will begin with the doubles match, for which Alexander Donski and Piotr Nesterov have been announced against Leighton Krone and Raven Klaassen. Next came the singles between the first rockets Kuzmanov and Henning and between the second – Lazarov and Krone.
On the first competition day, the program will start at 1:00 p.m., and on the second – at 11:00 a.m. Entry to the public is free until the capacity of 900 seats on the central court at the National Sports Center is filled. All matches will be broadcast live on the Bulgarian sports television B1B.BOX.
The leader of the draw ceremony was the supervisor of the match Bulgaria – RYA Yassin Lakhdar from Tunisia, and the president of the South African Tennis Federation Gavin Crooks was a special guest. In the presence of the two captains, Valentin Dimov and Christo van Rensburg, and the tennis players from both teams, the chief of the linesmen Lubomir Badinski helped with the draw.
