“The rebellion in Iran has an interesting genesis. It was called the ‘Women’s Rebellion’ and the ‘Minorities Rebellion’. Until now, the rebellions in the country were due to economic demands. For the first time, we are witnessing a rebellion related to the violation of human rights.” This is what Prof. Vladimir Chukov told BNR.

And he added that in his statements, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi juggled demagogic arguments: “He is a former prosecutor. He is accused by the Iranian opposition that in 1988, as a prosecutor, he issued over 30,000 death sentences. He denies it, but it turned out that this is true. Iran is in a delicate situation. It is unlikely that the uprisings of women and youth will topple the regime, but this is a serious test that the regime is no longer so strong and powerful.”

Prof. Chukov pointed out that women in Iran have greater initiative, which comes from the specifics of the Shiite denomination: “Women have much greater freedom. They have rights that are not available in other Arab, Sunni countries. All this is based on in the way Sharia is constructed in this country”.

In the program “Horizon for you”, he explained that the nature of governance in the Islamic Republic implies and requires the elimination of this deep state, a state within a state: “They have the repressive apparatus, the army, they are the people who control the Iranian nuclear program, huge economic powers”
