The legendary TV boss Svetlana Vasileva, who was the first executive director of BTV when the television was launched in the distant 2000, is returning to the big game. She will probably be the new program director of Nova TV in place of Apostol Penchev, who left suddenly, Lupa.bg has learned.
About a month ago, surprisingly for everyone, Apostol Penchev, who has been the director of “Content” at Nova TV since 2017, submitted a request to leave, and there are various rumors about it. The one-month notice period expires on November 8 and the position is effectively vacated. This is a key post for any media – in practice, the director decides which shows and movies are broadcast and at what time. In recent years, Nova has drastically increased its results and permanently surpassed its competitors from BTV, and Apostol Penchev obviously has a key credit for this with his unerring talent for arranging a program.
Apostol Penchev surprisingly left Nova TV, whose profitable programming scheme he built
The vacant position must be filled by an equally competent person, and there aren’t many of them. This is how the option arose to invite Svetlana Vasileva, who is also known as a great connoisseur of the television market. Vasileva was the head of BTV, and then the executive director of TV 7 and Nova Television. He currently works for a smaller media group. According to sources of Lupa.bg, she is still debating whether to accept. The problem is that until years ago she was still an executive director, and head of content seems like a demotion of sorts.
Earlier today Lupa.bg announced that Nova has appointed Desislava Proeva from BTV as Director of Strategic Partnerships and Business Development. She will be responsible for the development of new special projects of the leading media company and expansion of its market presence in new business areas.
