Recall the adventures of Chef Manchev on the road in “Kitchen Nightmares” today at 10:00 p.m. on NOVA
Remember how Chef Manchev makes a culinary inspection in a roadside restaurant. The “Nightmares in the Kitchen” team stops at the 2nd kilometer of the main road connecting Ruse, Pleven and Sofia at the “2nd Kilometer” restaurant, located exactly 2 kilometers from the Svishtovo village of Ovcha Mogila.
Manchev will roll out a menu in which he will be seen on the front pages together with Kamen Donev, Iliana Raeva, Yavor Yanakiev 100 Kila and other stars from the music, theater and television scene.
The restaurant opened its doors for the first time back in 1965. Initially, it offers grill and unique fish soup – for only 16 cents. Half a century later, the establishment continues to do well in the summer, but the winter cannot attract customers. Are bad roads or bad restaurant policy at the root of the problem? It’s time for Manchev’s inspection to find out where the nightmares have parked this time and whether he will be able to fight the Czech owner Georgi.
A quick tasting of selected dishes from the menu will establish that the food is delicious and the remarks are almost symbolic. But after just a few steps in the salon, Manchev will come across swallows’ nests and wallpaper, valued by the feathered. The kitchen is frozen in time, and with it the chicken skewers, meat and dumplings.
Where does a restaurant owner go wrong who owns an animal and vegetable farm and all the products in his restaurant are authentic, the recipes homemade and the staff dedicated?
