The smart and very soft-spoken Prof. Petar Stojanovic will once again shine on the small screen as a commentator, but on BBC.

The historian will be a weekly commentator in the morning block “This Saturday”, the media reported. Until the end of last year, he had the same role on BNT, when every Saturday he commented on current events in “The Day Begins with Georgi Ljubenov”. However, his column was taken down with the explanation that it violates good manners.

Now Stojanovic, who is a doctor of historical sciences and a professor at the Institute of Historical Studies of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, joins the team of the BTV Saturday morning show. He will comment on various topics related to the history and cultural heritage of Bulgaria.

“History doesn’t make any sense except when we tend to learn from it and be entertained. I think that will happen every Saturday at 10.00 on BBC,” says Prof Stojanovic.

“BTV’s publicity once again proves that it continues to develop quality content. Why it is important to preserve historical memory and why some answers to contemporary events should be sought not in the present but in the past. Do the lessons of history really repeat themselves and how – Prof. Petar Stojanovic’s commentary in “This Saturday and Sunday” will give viewers exactly this meaningful and important direction. With the presence of Prof. Stojanovic every Saturday, we emphasize the events that connect the past and future,” says Iskra Vladimirova, editor-in-chief of “Actual Shows” on BTV.
