Bulgaria has no victory in its four matches so far from this year’s edition of the competition. The team started with two home matches – a 1:1 draw against North Macedonia and a heavy loss against Georgia with 2:5, which led to the resignation of Yasen Petrov. After that, BFS sports director Georgi Ivanov temporarily took over the team for the next two away games – a 1:1 draw with Gibraltar and a 0:0 draw with Georgia.

The Lions now have no chance of finishing top of the group and looking to qualify for EURO 2024 via the Nations League, but success over Gibraltar will ensure they stay in League C. The matches against Gibraltar and North Macedonia (September 26) may also be important for which urn our national team will fall into in the draw for EURO 2024, which will be drawn on October 9 in Frankfurt – fourth or fifth!
