A priest slaughtered his wife in front of their daughter and stuffed her head in the freezer

A priest killed and beheaded his wife in front of their 8-year-old daughter on Halloween night. The woman’s skull was later found in the family’s freezer.

The horror unfolded in the Russian city of Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan. The 40-year-old priest Mikhail Zubarev was arrested for the murder of his 44-year-old wife Viktoria Zubareva.

Their daughter and their 17-year-old son Daniel are in hospital and receiving psychological help after the horror, the Daily Mail reports.

Days before the tragedy, lay people complained about the strange behavior of the servant of God.

According to information from the investigators, he cut Victoria’s throat, then dismembered her body. Covered in blood, he began to pray, inviting his daughter to do the same. The horrified girl called her older brother and asked him to come home.

According to some reports, the priest put the severed head of his wife in the freezer, and it was later found by the daughter. Others claim the head was found by the son who “hoped his mother’s head could be reattached to the body.”

Zubarev is a native of the Murmansk region and worked as a prison chaplain.
