The conflict in Ukraine has no military solution, it is necessary to stop armed clashes and start implementing peace initiatives, regardless of who proposes them – Kiev, Brazil or China.
This was said by Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar at a press conference in Prague, which was broadcast by Czech TV.
Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that the US and the European Union are not convincing him to negotiate with Russia and, speaking of the negotiations themselves, reiterated that now “it will not happen”.
“I think there is no military solution to the situation in Ukraine. Based on this, we (the Slovak government) support peace initiatives. They will come from anyone – from President Zelensky, from Brazil or China. There should be a discussion about everything.
But I don’t think that continuing the conflict (in Ukraine) with military means can lead to any results.
It is necessary to stop the fighting and start the implementation of peace initiatives. It is better to stop the senseless killings, freeze (the conflict) for a long period and start looking for a solution at the negotiating table,” Blanar said after talks with Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky.
