Zelensky said whether Ukraine would jump at the chance to kill Putin if given the chance – E.U

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi spoke about the assassination attempt and the Russian plan to remove him from power in an interview with The Sun.

The president said he has lost count of the number of assassination attempts since the war began.

“The first attempt is very interesting when it’s the first, and then everything goes like clockwork. At first people don’t know what to do and it looks very scary. Then the intelligence just shares with you the details that another group has arrived in Ukraine to tried to do it,” he said.

Zelensky says Moscow still wants to remove him from power. One of the Russian missions is planned for the end of 2023, reports news.bg.

“The operation is called Maidan-3, it is aimed at changing the president. Maybe not through assassination. They will use all the tools they have,” the president said.

He did not answer the journalist’s question whether Ukraine has made such attempts against pro-Russian figures in the occupied territories.

“I cannot discuss with you any special operations of Ukrainian intelligence, secret services or special forces. There are some points we do not discuss,” he added.

Asked if Ukraine would jump at the chance to kill Putin if given the chance, Zelensky said: “This is a war and Ukraine has every right to defend its land.”
