Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky spoke about the assassination attempt and the Russian plan to remove him from power in an interview for The Sun.
The president said that has lost count of the number of attempts on his life since the beginning of the war.
“The first attempt is very interesting when it’s the first, and then everything goes like clockwork. At first people don’t know what to do and it looks very scary. Then the intelligence just shares with you the details that another group has arrived in Ukraine to tried to do it,” he said.
Zelensky says that Moscow still wants to remove him from power. One of the Russian missions is planned for late 2023.

“The operation is called “Maidan-3”, it is aimed at a change of the president. Maybe not by murder. They will use all the tools they have,” the president said.
He did not answer the journalist’s question whether Ukraine made such attempts against pro-Russian figures in the occupied territories.
“I cannot discuss with you any special operations of Ukrainian intelligence, secret services or special forces. There are some points we do not discuss,” he added.
Asked if Ukraine would jump at the chance to kill Putin if she did provided an opportunity, Zelensky said: “This is a war and Ukraine has every right to defend its land.”
In a recent conversation with Bloomberg, the president said that Ukrainian intelligence and foreign partners have received information about the Russian plan “Maidan 3”.

Zelensky earlier called in an interview not to expect a quick end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.

“This is our life. This is hard work every day. And everything will not end as quickly as we would like, but we have no right to give up and we will not do that,” continued the president of Ukraine.
