Turn around! In Germany, they demanded the suspension of aid to Ukrainians

The general civil assistance for them, which refugees from other countries do not receive, should be abolished and it should be understood why they go to Germany, said Reichard Sager

Olaf Scholz’s government is happy with its migration policy, but Reichard Sager, who heads the association of German municipalities, is confident that Germany’s integration options have been exhausted.

The main problem is Ukrainian refugees, they should be treated like other visitors, he believes.

General civil assistance for them, which refugees from other countries do not receive, should be abolished and it should be understood why they go to Germany.

Berlin’s migration policy is again under fire.

Reichard Sager, head of the association of German regions, believes that all the promises of Olaf Scholz’s cabinet for “mass deportation” are simply a ‘non-working sedative’.

“If the number of refugees is not reduced quickly and significantly in the long term, the problems will only get worse and this will have consequences,” Zager was quoted as saying by the German publication Focus.

Moreover, they will be expressed “including in the growing popularity of the AfD (Alternative for Germany)”.

Sager points out that refugees are not truly integrated into German society. It doesn’t matter if we are talking about those who arrived 8-9 years ago or about the refugees from Ukraine.

“Municipalities insist that new arrivals from Ukraine no longer receive automatic civil benefits,” explains Zager’s main request to Berlin.

According to him, they should be “treated as asylum seekers from other countries”.

According to Zager, the question of why so many people from Ukraine come to Germany is also valid. The federal state of Baden-Württemberg alone is home to “twice as many Ukrainian refugees as the whole of France.”

Reichard Sager is “stunned” that people in Berlin are “patting themselves on the back” instead of acknowledging the problem.

“Many regions and municipalities are still overloaded with regular and illegal migration,” and what the ruling coalition claims to reduce the migration flow is justified in winter – “in winter the numbers always decrease,” he explains.

“Integrating all these people is no longer possible,” says Zager, and there needs to be a political debate about an “upper limit for refugees” for which “if necessary, a more politically correct name can be found.”
