Hoteliers and restaurateurs along the Black Sea have a ritual for a light and profitable season.
Around March, April at the latest, they start repeating the mantra “The season is about to fail, the season is about to fail, the season is about to fail”.
This year is no exception and the performance of the ritual is already underway.
But don’t worry, dear owners of hotels and restaurants, the Black Sea season will be wonderful.
The first evidence of this came from the industry itself, which, after briefly ignoring the complaints about the unborn Petko, boasted that it already had reservations for the beginning of May. The series of weekends and the relatively favorable weather fill the hotels on the Southern Black Sea coast, and not only with Bulgarians.
The flying start, half-heartedly acknowledged by the tourism industry, will give a strong impetus to another summer, in which there will be nowhere to lay an egg in the Bulgarian resorts.
It is not only the early bookings that speak of this. And this year, Bulgaria will surely enjoy an influx of Romanian tourists, for whom our Black Sea cities have been among the most attractive destinations for several years.
For Romanians, the Black Sea turned out to be the perfect summer destination – not far away, cheap, beautiful and somehow close to their mentality and heart. Our northern neighbors are welcome for our tourism boom.
And that’s not all, friends! Thanks to the “air Schengen” we are again waiting for Western tourists.
Only a possible new pandemic can stop them from coming here and enjoying hotels, food and alcohol that are criminally cheap in their eyes, and one, thank God, is not coming. Therefore, the well-known British and German tourists are expected again in 2024.
They may not be the most generous, but they are the perfect all-inclusive consumers and can be counted on to keep their glasses and plates full from morning to night.
Last but not least comes his majesty – the Bulgarian tourist.
He is a bit like a stepchild for hoteliers and restaurateurs by the sea – he is nice to them, but in no case can they love him. However, despite the phenomenon, every year quite a few Bulgarians choose the Black Sea and are even satisfied with their decision.
This year will be no exception.
The forums, led by the ubiquitous bg-mamma, are already overflowing with inquiries about hotels, places to stay, restaurants to visit, sights to see.
The spring burst of questions and opinions is eloquent enough that Bulgarian interest in the Black Sea does not wane.
Old love does not catch rust, wise people have said, and that is why Greece has not succeeded in displacing Bulgaria completely from our hearts.
So, dear tourist industry, breathe easy – there will be a summer season and it will be a good one.
All the evidence points to that. After all, you have already performed the blessing ritual, nothing can go wrong.
