Poland is ready to help of Ukraine to get back the men of conscription age.

This was stated by the Minister of Defense Vladislav Kosiniak-Kamish.

On Wednesday, the Ukrainian government announced rules according to which passports for men of legal age can only be issued in the countryand not in foreign diplomatic missions, noted “Reuters”.

As a result, men aged 18 to 59 living abroad, they will not be able to renew their passports or get new ones.

In the past, Poland has offered help to Ukraine to ensure that those subject to military service return to their country to fulfill their civic duty, Kosińak-Kamish said in an interview with Polsat News television.

“I think that many Poles are outragedwhen they see young Ukrainian men in hotels and cafes and hear how much effort we have to make to help Ukraine,” he said, without specifying how Poland would help.

According to the Eurostat database, as of January 2024, there are about 4.3 million Ukrainians living in EU countries, of which about 860,000 are adult men.

Poland has granted temporary protection status to 950,000 Ukrainianswhich is the second highest number after Germany.

“Any kind of support is possible,” Kosiniak-Kamish said of how Poland would react if Kiev sought help in repatriating those who may lose their right to stay in Poland after their passports expire.
