“Russia is not only bombing military sites, but also residential buildings. They do it because they want to scare people, create panic and make Kharkiv residents leave the city. But they fail. We have been living with Russian bombs for two years in Kharkiv, and people have adapted.”
said Oleksandra Novosel, an editor at the public Ukrainian television in the city.
10 air raid sirens per day on average – the residents of Kharkiv are already used to this.
“Right now there’s a distress siren. We found out that they were bombing nearby villages. It can be heard. It was calm in the city this morning, but only this morning,” says journalist Oleksandra Novosel.
Days ago a Russian missile hit the TV tower in the city, but public television did not stop broadcasting. Part of school hours are currently held underground, including in metro stations.
“We are very close to the border with Russia. We are subjected to many rocket attacks every day, but for me it is not realistic that the city will be conquered.” Oleksandra Novosel also told, bTV reported.
