Kyiv carries out provocations to hinder the mission

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission left Kyiv on Wednesday morning and arrived in the town of Energodar, in Russian-controlled territory, on the morning of September 1. This was stated by the head of the city administration Alexander Volga, quoted by the Russian state agency TASS.

According to him, the participants in the mission will be provided with housing in Energodar.

In turn, the head of the administration of the Zaporozhye region Yevgeny Balitsky said that the local authorities will not provide the participants of the IAEA mission with special passes, they will have to stand in line to enter the region.

Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Zaporizhia Oblast administration, said the region’s authorities fear interference from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission targeting the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. This is reported by TASS.

“Of the 11 countries in the mission, including Italy, which is represented by (IAEA Director General Raphael) Grossi, six are NATO members. In addition, these are the countries that imposed sanctions on Russia and supply weapons to the Zelensky regime. Therefore, to say that they are not engaged is not serious”, the representative expressed his opinion to TASS.

Earlier, the Director General of the IAEA, Raphael Grossi, stated that the agency wants to organize a permanent mission on the territory of the Zaporizhia NPP. According to him, the mission faces a very important task – to realistically assess the situation on the station and stabilize it.

The deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, Andrei Rudenko, told reporters that the possibility of a permanent presence of an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant is not ruled out.

The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that this issue is currently being discussed.

“Let’s first see the first results of their stay there. (…) When they get there and have some first impressions of what’s going on, then probably this issue will be resolved,” he said.

At a regular briefing on Wednesday, the official spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Defense, Lt. Gen. Igor Konashenkov, said that the Ukrainian military had subjected the radioactive waste processing complex at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant to missile and artillery fire. According to him, the regime in Kyiv continues to carry out provocations to hinder the work of the IAEA mission and to create threats of man-made catastrophe at the Zaporizhia NPP.

Over 1,700 Kyiv soldiers were liquidated in 48 hours.
