Military expert Oleg Zhdanov stated that the Crimean bridge will be destroyed if Ukraine receives ATACMS missiles
The armed forces of Ukraine destroyed an ammunition depot of the Russian troops in the occupied Melitopol. This was reported by the local media, quoted by the UNiAN information agency.
According to eyewitnesses, explosions were heard almost all night.
Former mayor Ivan Fyodorov revealed that the Ukrainian military hit two enemy targets at the same time.
Yesterday, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed five munitions warehouses of the occupiers, the operational command “South” announced.
According to them, the Russian army is demoralized but desperately resisting.
“Trying to preserve the occupied territory, the enemy continues with artillery and mortar shelling, as well as air and missile attacks on our positions, on civilian settlements, on local residents. Three times during the day, fighter jets and attack aircraft launched missile strikes on our positions in the Berislav region, but without losses,” the report noted.
“The enemy bombarded the Nikolaev area with 500-kilogram high-explosive bombs. One civilian was wounded,” added OK Yug.
“The Russian occupiers continue to attack the Nikolaev region by firing an air-to-air missile from a Su-35 fighter jet. Air defense forces worked perfectly, the missile was destroyed,” the operational command said.
They revealed that 102 Russian soldiers were killed and 6 tanks, a Msta-B howitzer, a Grad rocket launcher, a mobile 120mm mortar, 8 armored units and other vehicles were destroyed.
Military expert Oleg Zhdanov said that the Crimean bridge would be destroyed if Ukraine received ATACMS, and according to the coordinator of international projects of the Razumkov Center Alexei Melnyk, even if his country received such missiles with a range of up to 300 km, this would not change the course of the war. Such an expectation is exaggerated, he commented.
“A meeting at the Ramstein base on September 8 is very important. Cardinal decisions can be made there, but it is a bit naive to hope that one measure can completely turn the tide of the war,” Melnik noted.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian blogger Yuriy Podoliaka reported that mourning was declared in Zakarpattia Oblast for the dead soldiers of the 128th Brigade, which was the basis of the second counter-offensive in the Olgino and Arkhangelsk regions.
“Dozens of residents of the district died in the senseless counterattack, which followed the same pattern as the first one on August 29. The Russian Airborne Forces dispersed the Ukrainian troops as if by sheet music,” he commented in a video commentary published on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the battle for Kherson is not over. “For 4 days of fighting in this direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 2,000 soldiers, and the wounded number about 5,000. In Odesa, Mykolaivsk, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, hospitals are full of victims of the fighting. There are no more places, and that’s why Zaluzhny asked Zelensky to stop the operation in Kherson,” he added.
