A 31-year-old Ukrainian woman has been detained on charges that she sent the location of her husband’s military unit to Russian military intelligenceReuters reports, citing the State Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

The woman from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine, had been transmitting information about the location of military buildings and equipment at frontline positions in Donetsk and Zaporozhye Oblasts after she questioned her husband about the location of his unit and other Ukrainian formations.

She transmitted the information she received through the Messenger application to Russian military intelligence, which used it to conducting artillery and air strikesindicated by the SBU.

She did this despite the fact that she is married to a serviceman in the Armed Forces of Ukraine and they have a son, added by the Ukrainian service.

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Ukraine’s security services have been trying to break up a network of Russian agents and apprehend those involved.

The SBU, the country’s most important internal security service, regularly announces the capture of people it says are spies caught passing military data to Moscow.
