The Armed Forces of Ukraine attempted an offensive along the entire frontbut there is no reason for panic in the (self-proclaimed – note) Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR), the allied forces (Russian troops and separatist militias – note) guarantee security, said the head of the “republic” Leonid Pasechnik, quoted from TASS.
“The situation is very tense. The enemy has made an attempt to advance along the entire front. In practice, today it is on the borders of the LPR. I want to assure everyone that there is no reason to panic. Today we guarantee the security of our borders. Therefore, I state with confidence that the enemy’s counteroffensive attempt will still be stopped, defeated by our troops and we will continue to clear the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) of Ukrainian nationalists, carry out the tasks of denazification and demilitarization of Ukraine“, he said.
Already yesterday, a high-ranking military commander of the LPR declared that the frontline in eastern Ukraine is closing in on the borders of the self-proclaimed separatist Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR).
We recall that Ukrainian forces launched a counterattack and regained control over key cities such as Izyum and Kupyansk. The President of the country, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the Ukrainian army has recaptured over 6,000 square km.

The status that the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic can receive within Russia is not so important – in any case, Luhansk will have its representative in Moscow, said the head of the self-proclaimed LPR, Leonid Pasechnik, again quoted by TASS.
“The main task is to defeat and become part of the Russian Federation. And what we will be there, it seems to me, that is not very important, it is important that we are together,” he said.
In the spring and summer, the authorities of the self-proclaimed LPR talked about a possible referendum on joining Russia. At the end of July, a referendum preparation headquarters was opened in Lugansk.
However, as the Russian opposition media Meduza wrote last week, citing its sources, the referendums on the annexation of the occupied territories of Ukraine to Russia have been postponed “indefinitely” due to the successful counter-offensive of the Ukrainian army.
