A “Kinzhal” hypersonic missile launched by the Russians at the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih has fallen on Russian territory. This happened on September 14 in the Stavropol region near the village of Kendzhe-Kulak. The Ukrainian military publication Militarniy writes about this.
Six people were injured in the incident – one firefighter and five civilians. According to the publication, this indicates that the rocket did not explode immediately, but some time after the fall.
However, according to Russian media, it was a drone.
“The Russian media is spreading the version that the Tu-141 drone crashed in the Stavropol region. However, the remains at the site of the explosion do not confirm this version. In the photo and video, not a single characteristic element of Tu-141 Strizh is visible,” the Ukrainian media wrote.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk municipal administration, Valentin Reznichenko, noted in Telegram that Russian forces fired at Kryvyi Rih with Iskander and Kinzhal missiles. The alleged missile’s crash site is 200 kilometers from the site in Akhtubinsk where the Kinzhal missiles are based. And the village of Kendzhe-Kulak could quite easily be located in the trajectory of a missile that a Russian MiG-31 fighter jet could launch from the Caspian Sea, the military publication also points out.
