“Boo and Fu and the Strange Thing in the Tree” is a book about friendship, about sharing, about understanding the other. That’s what he said in the show “The man in focus” on Radio “Focus” screenwriter, writer and radio host Georgi Ivanov.

According to him, owls have a very specific character and image, there is a lot of mythology around them and in a way they are very suitable for authentic fairy tale characters and stories. “There is something magical beyond the story of this book – everyone who touches the story of Boo and Fu, then becomes inspired and wants to know more about the story and about the owls. That’s how Kanichka Publishing House happened, who published the booklet. That’s what happened with the child psychologists I gave the book to a while ago and it turned out that they play the characters with the kids, which helps a lot in letting the kids share more easily. The same thing happened with the parents who read the story, through the owls they then very easily communicate with the children. So it happened with Bob Klisursky, who the moment he reached for the story, he said: “This is my story, I want to draw them and show them to the world.” What he showed me as an illustration, I immediately said to myself: It’s the owls. They just took shape,” he shared.

The author also said that in most of the scenarios he wrote, the line with the children is present and he admits that he likes to tell about children very much, because there is a certain specificity in it: “On the one hand, you have to present some important topic that concerns children and the adults, on the other hand, you have to present it through humor, with play, with a lot of imagination. And that’s always attracted me.”

Illustrator Bob Klisurski emphasized that owls are very important characters for him too, he is even called and drawn as Owl by his colleagues. “This book came to me as a great pleasure and a kind of relaxation. Jorot had laid everything out, he had set the stage, so I just had to put the owls on the branch, where they fit quite well,” he said.

The writer also shared that Bob Klisurski, in addition to bringing the two characters to life in the book, is also the author of the accessory to the book, which is a model of the two owls that children can cut out, assemble and play with. . “What is very key for this book is that psychologists are used to work with children because through owls children communicate much easier,” shared Georgi Ivanov

The premiere of the book will take place on April 27 in Entract 127. The event will also be attended by special guests – Yoana Temelkova and Alek Alexiev, who will act out part of the story.
