Prof. Hristo Pimpirev presented his biographical book “The Antarctic Hitchhiker” in Radomir. The event was organized by the journalist Simeon Idakev and the Municipality of Radomir, and the date was not chosen by chance, since April 23 is the International Book and Copyright Day.

The hall of Radomir Municipality proved to be cramped for over 80 residents and guests who wanted to meet Prof. Pimpirev.

“Bulgaria has its base and a polar ship, which this year made a second voyage from Varna to Livingstone Island,” shared Prof. Pimpirev. He stated that we have something to be proud of, because the work of our scientists on the icy continent has been going on for nearly 30 years. has contributed to our country having its rightful place among countries such as the USA, Russia, Japan, etc.

Mayor Stoev presented Prof. Pimpirev with the honorary symbol of Radomir, with the wish that he be taken to the Bulgarian base of Fr. Livingstone. “Radomir also has a lot to be proud of and it is a great honor for all of us to have you as our guests and to touch our city,” shared the mayor.

The students from the “Atlas” club at the “Hristo Smirnenski” elementary school presented a hand-made tree with the message: “We are the roots of the plants under the soil you explore. Thanks to our teachers, we are growing hard in knowledge, towards the center of the Earth. Thank you, Professor Hristo Pimpirev!”

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Pimpirev was presented as a person who has turned his personal dream into state policy – a respectful, inspiring and motivating speech, complemented by the long-term dedication and results of the work of the professor and his team. A reason to be proud and a worthy example of the fact that with a lot of hard work and persistence, anything is possible!
