“Amphibrachius in C major” – the new book by Ivaylo Dimanov

For all who feel lonely in the labyrinth of alienation and are looking for their place and meaning, among people and streets, is our invitation to meet with the poetic world of Ivaylo Dimanov. In “Night Horizon” with music and verse we experience the poet’s new poems dealing with love, separation and the search for happiness.

His latest collection of poems “Amphibrachius in C Major” is an invitation to explore of this world, which, according to Dimanov, is an old vestibule, but full of life and exciting possibilities.

His new book “Amphibrachius in C Major” is an unusual project combining poetry, author’s illustrations and songs, even with braille verses. About the title of the book, the poet tells how he uses the trisyllabic rhythmic step of amphibrachia. The collection of poems covers a wide range of topics and emotions.

The book is divided into several cycles “Drasna God with a match”, in which the poet penetrates into the depths of the human soul with daring and unconventional means of expression. In the cycle “This is not a sonnet”, the stanzas are connected by invisible threads and flow in an unexpected rhythm. And in the final cycle “You Walk Desperately” the reader enters the world of internal battles and dark fears that lurk in the poet’s soul.

Ivaylo Dimanov is a journalist, writer and bard from Sofia, author of 14 books of poetry, fiction and theater criticism. Laureate of many national and international literary awards. He had hundreds of concerts with his original songs and poetry in different cities of Bulgaria, in the Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia, Italy, Austria, Slovakia, Ukraine, France, Russia, England, South Korea, Greece, Sweden, Belgium, Canada and the USA. He has released an independent album of author’s songs «Cheers, Loneliness!», with which in 2018 the poet presented Bulgaria at the International Poetry Festival in the legendary «Santa Cecilia» in Rome. He has been translated into 12 languages, a member of the SBZ and SBP, a doctor of journalism. Currently, he is the manager of the “Journalist” Club and the chairman of the Commission on Professional-Creative Issues in the Union of Bulgarian Journalists. His latest collection of poems “Amphibrachius in C major” was recently published.
