Vanya Grigorova, who left the municipal council in the capital, is tying herself to Maya Manolova, it became clear in the hours after she announced her participation in the parliamentary vote. And today he told BNT: “Politics is not one-layered, it works on many levels. The Sofia municipality is too small a field for politics, there most of the duties are clerical”. He added that after the elections he would seek unification on leading policies with different parties, but did not specify exactly with which. He denied being in bad relations with the “Left”.
Grigorova exchanged harsh words with BSP leader Kornelia Ninova.
“Vanya Grigorova lied four times in a very short time – he lied to his voters by colluding with GERB in the municipality, he lied to the workers by first raising his own salary, not theirs. She lied to the left of Georgi Parvanov, got their support, she was the new star. He also lied to our city organization, the structures we worked for. Without the BSP, she would not have had this result in the elections”, emphasized the chairman of the BSP today.
“If Kornelia Ninova is used to fighting with her like-minded people, ostracizing her members and throwing them out, this is not my approach. Let her first come to an understanding with herself, and then, I believe, she will find a common language with the party,” commented Grigorova afterwards.
Grigorova is at odds with Kornelia Ninova, although with the BSP she reached the mayoral runoff last fall. There was information from the previous days that he was in contact with the “Left” (and this formation stood behind it in the fall) about the June 9 vote, but the talks failed. Yesterday, the head of the “Levitsa” coalition council, Kostadin Paskalev, confirmed the discrepancies. He said that Grigorova requested a meeting with him and his colleagues in connection with the elections. According to him, in the course of the talks, it became clear that Grigorova’s claims are incompatible with the principles of the left unification and that there should be equal treatment of the participants in the “Left” coalition.
Vanya Grigorova was also attacked by Tatyana Doncheva. “Vanya Grigorova asked to lead the Left alone,” Doncheva said. “She set several conditions that, I think, no self-respecting political party and politician will accept. That the parties without the leaders should enter the coalition, that she should lead them single-handedly, single-handedly make decisions on all policy issues, through priorities, to the lists and the people, the arrangements, etc. That the leaders do not enter the lists is a condition that no one can impose on another,” said Doncheva.
Grigorova will use the “Solidary Bulgaria” brand. Behind her are the parties “Bulgarian Left”, “United Social Democracy” and “Stand Up.BG” (Maya Manolova). “Solidarna Bulgaria” was a well-known left-wing Facebook group years ago, from which the political career of Ivo Hristov (currently an MEP) started. The organization also existed as an association.
