Lars Ulrich sells his house in Denmark for $7 million (VIDEO)

--

The house in Denmark where Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich spent his childhood is on the real estate market in the north country for 48 million Danish kroner, which is about $6.85 million.

The four-story building is located in the most luxurious part of one of Copenhagen’s suburbs – Gentofte. It was built in 1907 and was designed by the famous architect Karl Brummer.

In a video, Lars himself talks about his childhood in the house and the first 17 years of his life spent there. He says his father had a music room where he listened to records by Miles Davis and John Coltrane.

Lars himself had his own room where his drums were. There was also a stereo and 700 Deep Purple posters.

The drummer’s father, Torben Ulrich, who died late last year, competed as a professional tennis player. He wants his son to follow his path and sends him to the US to train at Nick Bollettieri’s academy. There, however, Lars decided to choose music instead of sports as his career.

He moves to Los Angeles and places an ad for a band in a local newspaper, which is answered by James Hetfield and Hugh Tanner. The name Metallica was coined by radio host Ron Quintana, who was looking for a name for his metal show.

He vacillates between “Metallica” and “Metal Mania”. Lars Ulrich encouraged him to choose “Metal Mania” to use Metallica as his band name. It was officially formed in October 1981. The rest, as they say, is history.
