3 (ambitious) women in a clash near the CEC, another one got nervous, and Strasbourg surprised with a fifth (Overview)

Maya Manolova and Vanya Grigorova together at the vote, Ninova does not believe in their result, Elena Yoncheva with an offer from DPS

In just half an hour and just a day before the CEC closes voter registrations on June 9, pre-election passions on the left have heated up in a female way.

First, BSP leader Kornelia Ninova appeared in person on Tuesday morning to register the party, surrounded by her closest deputies – Georgi Svilenski, Christian Vigenin, Ivan Chenchev, Irena Anastasova, Atanas Zafirov and Georgi Gyokov. She insisted that only the BSP was an alternative to this vote, because she was the only one who did not embrace Boyko Borisov and GERB.

But after about 30 minutes, another request for an alternative appeared before the CEC – Vanya Grigorova. The ambitious trade unionist, left just under 5,000 votes from the mayoral seat in Sofia, has already announced that she will attack the parliament. And on Tuesday morning, it turned out that he registered for the vote 2 in 1 together with Maya Manolova’s party “Stand Up, BG”. Until recently, the news from the two ladies was that they did not understand each other. However, it has now become clear that Manolova

leaves with his party

“The Left!”, in which he was one of the leading figures. This unnerved her previous friend there, Tatiana Doncheva (see her comment below).

A curious detail is that all three – Grigorova, Manolova and Doncheva – were candidates for mayor of Sofia from the BSP.

I wish everyone success, but for this particular project I don’t believe in big results. Vanya Grigorova

lied 4 times

in a very short time. First, he lied to his voters, by colluding with GERB in the municipality, he lied to the workers, by first raising his own salary, not theirs, he lied to the “Left!” Ninova commented. That’s why she didn’t think of her as a serious competitor.

Without the BSP, she would not have had this result in Sofia. How do you think that a person who, in such a short time, has so vividly and categorically conveyed both people and ideas, can count on any success? added the chairwoman.

Grigorova was laconic in her response – Ninova first had to come to terms with herself and the party. And the swarming to the left was because of the leaders.

Maya Manolova, unusually for her political nature, did not appear at the CEC, but was represented by her deputy and her only municipal councilor in Sofia, Voyslav Todorov. He and Grigorova are colleagues in SOS in the BSP group.

“There is no conflict between us. Yes, we decided to work together, we managed to find points of intersection so that we could collect over 5,000 signatures within a few days and register,” Vanya was succinct about her alliance with Maya.

Tatiana Doncheva explained, however, what divided the “Left” –

Grigorova asked without leaders in the lists

According to the lawyer, the question is “who has an interest in the leaders of the “Left”, who are the last remaining experienced politicians, not participating in decision-making”. I believe that the people behind Maya and behind Vanya want the removal of anyone who would guess true intentions, not by chanceshe told “Aktualno”.

Another lady emblematic of the left made a sharp pre-election move – the current MEP Elena Yoncheva. On Monday evening, it became clear from a Facebook post of the regional council of the DPS in Blagoevgrad that she was nominated for their Eurolist. Ninova stated that she was not surprised – “sooner or later addictions come to light”.

The two had long since ended their relationship

The men jumped more sharply on Yoncheva – on Facebook, the former fellow journalist and MP from the BSP, Alexander Simov, announced that she had “hit the moral bottom” and was “Peevski’s puppet”.

So far, Yoncheva does not say clearly whether she is on the DPS list. In a post on Facebook, she explained that she accepts the nomination “as recognition for everything she has achieved in the European Parliament for Bulgaria”. The DPS did not officially comment, but their MEP Ilhan Kyuchuk emphasized that many people enter their lists as a civil quota, so no sensationalism should be sought.

“Probably our members and sympathizers have recognized in Mrs. Yoncheva an authentic bearer of European values”, Kychuk added. The two worked with her in Strasbourg and Brussels together to establish the authority of Bulgaria. But many of her appearances in the EP were with pathos against the role of the DPS in the political processes in our country, remind analysts who were surprised by the move.

Even if Yoncheva accepts her nomination, it is not yet clear whether she will find a place in the final ranking. The procedure for the promotion of candidates is still ongoing, so far she has been nominated only by the structure in Blagoevgrad. At the same time, the Blagovgrad list is symbolic – it is usually led by the leader Peevski, and in a party in which there are no random signs, the promotion of Yoncheva there is a signal that there is an agreement at the top.

With the most nominations so far are the co-presidents Delyan Peevski and Jevdet Chakarov, the current MEPs from DPS, the new youth leaders Tanzer Yuseinov and Ibryam Zaidenov and the temporary head of the youth before them – Taner Kabil, son of the former Minister of Agriculture Nihat Kabil, as well as MPs. The party previously announced that they would bet on young cadres.
