Former James Bond Pierce Brosnan and his partner Keeley Shay are traditionally one of the most talked about couples in Hollywood. And that is mainly because the half of the British handsome man is frankly overweight and, by his own admission, has long exceeded the 100 kg limit.
The blue-eyed gentleman revealed what he finds in the powerful force of his beloved and why he wouldn’t trade her for anyone else.
“I’m rarely asked frankly about what I think of Keely’s physique, but I can see the question in the eyes of all journalists and fans. And the answer is very simple – I have an aversion to skinny women,” said the star of “Golden Eye”.
“And if you think this is some sort of sexual fetish, I’m about to disappoint you. No, it’s not about an intimate attraction to bacon and cunts that millions of men have but are ashamed to admit. It’s more about the trauma I still carry from the death of my first wife,” Pearce is frank.
It is about Cassandra Harris, to whom Brosnan was married from 1980 until her death in 1991. They had 3 children – two from the lady’s first marriage, which Pierce adopted, and a common son – Sean. “Cassandra has always been extremely thin, about 53-54 kilograms, and I liked her that way. In 1986, however, she fell ill with ovarian cancer and the next 5 years of struggle were the hardest in my life,” the actor wiped his tears.
“When she left, there was almost nothing left of my wife. It was under 40 kilos, like lifting a bigger bag in your hands. I will never forget that horror, what the disease had turned her into. From this moment on, I can’t look at a thin woman, because the terrible word “cancer” pops into my head, the actor is categorical.
Cassandra died of the terrible disease at only 43 years old, but the nightmare did not end for Piers. Their adopted daughter Charlotte suffered from the exact same type of ovarian cancer and died in 2013, even younger – only 41. “For me, being fat means being healthy. I know many doctors will spit on me, but it’s a fact. The fatter my wife gets, the better I feel,” Pearce insists.
