80-year-old Tsvetana Maneva has difficulty walking and already relies on the help of a cane. The actress got seriously stuck with her legs and could not keep her balance without help. In order not to constantly engage her husband Yavor Milushev or other relatives and acquaintances, she bought a cane with which she could go out in the neighborhood.
Tsvetana leaned on him, going to the store, paying bills and doing work tasks, but she took small steps. Painful grimaces appeared on her face with every step, her neighbors say. The great actress could not hide the pain she felt.
However, Maneva did not appear with a cane at social events, so as not to arouse pity among her admirers. She does not hide that she suffers from a serious diagnosis, but refuses to name it. For this reason, the actress retired from her active stage career in the spring of 2022. According to her, her situation is serious and her strength is leaving her day by day, “Retro” writes.
“My vacation is forced. I can take it neither as a break nor as a punishment. If I had the physical strength, I would play more. Because being brought on stage like “carry me, mom, drag me” is not very nice. In a situation where physics left me, my spirit remained. At least my brain is working, thank God. I have a prayer every morning. When I enter the bathroom and look in the mirror, I say to myself – now I have to make a face out of this,” says Maneva.
The only commitments that the great actress still accepts are to judge at various theater and film festivals and competitions, as well as to appear occasionally at cultural events. About her health, she also consulted her daughter Nadezhda, who takes care of elderly people in Vienna. There, she completed a series of vocational rehabilitator training and courses to be able to practice the well-paid profession abroad.
