Those days, the “Trud” newspaper recalled our glorious association with “Dundee Precious Metals”, which is one of the ugliest pages in the history of Bulgarian dope-davism. In the years of the Transition, there are many examples of disregard for the state interest and even outright robbery, but the undoubted masterpiece is the deal with the Canadians from Dundee. And it no longer matters who united us with them, who conceived the partnership, because all subsequent rulers after Kostov – his Godfather – without exception were the same swindlers.

And the scheme is insultingly simple: from us the box, for the Canadians – the gold.

“Trud” quotes facts from the Resolution of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office from 2020. They prove that for a quarter of a century, our rulers have brutally neglected the state interest. Was this not some cunning oriental sign that another interpretation of our five-century coexistence with the agi is coming, in which they will also turn out to be hidden siblings of our hushes? Anyway, at that time we were not allowed to know the truth about this Sebihan outbreak. However, the most likely reason was that Hadji Dimitar himself discovered the new mine – what better recognition for those who would loot it, the mine I mean.

Anyway. The incident, curious as it was, joined the queue of exotic discoveries and discoveries that sooner or later will leave us without the protection of History – because she is not obligated to pay our idiotic bills, the fruit of naivety or stupidity, and in some cases, inexplicable worship of brutal robbery. For a long time, our lazy country is not at all bothered when it is considered ignorant and ready for all possible compromises.

The story with the Olympic gold medal is also unusual. The sponsor, of course, should be respected, but even giving him a medal is too much. All that remains is for the Dundee anthem to be played when the next honor is won. I wonder if it mentions Bulgaria in any way – for example, as the country in which the rulers must be necessarily vetted, to one degree or another

The authorities do not pay attention to the report of the Audit Chamber. But he remains a valuable testimony to the ease with which the Bulgarian political class neglects the interests of its country, a tragic document of its shameful helplessness. She cannot cope with any serious problem, managing the largest gold deposit in Europe is an overwhelming task for her. We brag like idiots about every newly opened auto accessory shop – while Dundee steals our gold.

BGN 427 million – this is the net profit of Dundee Precious Metals, after taxes and fees, for the accounting year 2021, according to the reports of the Canadian company. The amount is the sum of the net profits of her two companies in Bulgaria.

However, illegal gold mining along the Struma River was revealed on television – on some days, gold prospectors brought up to 40 grams of gold. Horror. As if these 40 grams could cover up the biggest robbery in our history.

The reaction of the prospectors of Continuing the Change was curious. Asen Vasilev stepped up early and promised to review Dundee’s concession, but his enthusiasm lasted a few days.
