The Vrachan electoral district sends six people’s representatives to the native parliament. For 15 years now, elections in the district have been convincingly won by GERB and two of the mandates are for the party of Boyko Borisov.

After the breakthrough with a mandate in the region ten years ago, the DPS have not given up their won position until now.

Over the years, mass support for the BSP in Vrachansko melted from election to election, and in the vote last spring, “Vazrazhdane” overtook them in the result. In the end, after the distribution of the votes, the two formations took one mandate each.

Independently and in a coalition with “Democratic Bulgaria” and “We continue the change” they also sent one deputy to the parliament.

In the period of its greatest electoral support at the national level in the field, ITN reached one mandate. This is how the political picture in Vrachansko can be briefly summarized in recent years.

What is next for the “2 in 1” vote in the early parliamentary and European elections? We are looking for answers from the voters in the report of our correspondent in Vratsa, Iva Antonova.

And in the mandate of “semi-Schengen” – the semi-opening of the modernized transport connection between the capital and the North-West was the most discussed topic among the people of Vratsa.

The last year or so was the time of active construction on the high-speed section of the E79 between Botevgrad and Mezdra. The long-awaited modernization also came with traffic disruptions. The route was partially reopened before traffic was again brought to a standstill to complete it.

The large-scale road project is significant not only as an international transport corridor, but also as an impetus for the progress of the region, still sunk at the bottom of the European Union’s poverty ranking.
