About 100 children sang and danced in honor of the Earth in Haskovo

With a holiday concert “Music and the Earth”, the young talents of the Youth Center in Haskovo celebrated Earth Day. The initiative is RIOSV-Haskovo in order to pay tribute to the home planet.
In her welcome speech, the director of the inspection, Mariana Valcheva, emphasized that every day should be Earth Day and we are all responsible for its protection.

The following took part in the concert: Children’s vocal group “Orpheus” led by Katya Demireva, Children’s dance ensemble “Yuzhnache” led by Galina Shtereva, Representative children’s choir “Orpheus” led by Elena Tsvetkova, Ballet school “Allegro” led by Maya Gabrovska, Majorette ensemble led by Elena Popova, Anastasia from “Art Voice Center” – Plovdiv. With a lot of mood and enthusiasm, the little artists presented their performances and were wildly applauded by the large audience.

In the lobby of the Youth Center, an exhibition of paintings from the “Rainbow” Art School, praising the beauty of nature, was displayed.

Earth Day was first celebrated on April 22, 1970 in the United States and Canada. Millions of North Americans participate in a demonstration and demand that politicians, statesmen, business circles include environmental protection in their priorities. In 1990, the holiday of our planet was declared international, and Bulgaria was one of the first countries to participate in its celebration. Over the past years, Earth Day – April 22 has become the largest non-religious holiday in the world. In our country, as well as in other countries, a call to celebrate Earth Day was spread to various state institutions, public movements, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church, foundations, media, individuals – scientists, politicians, artists, the younger generation.
