Maritsa (Plovdiv) is the champion of Bulgaria for the 10th time in a row. The Yellow-Blues defeated CSKA (Sofia) 3:0 (25:17, 25:20, 25:15) game in the third decisive meeting of the final of the Women’s National Volleyball League.
Plovdiv girls won the series with 3:0 victories and triumphed with the title for a record time. The final was played in the “Hristo Botev” hall in Sofia and ended in just over an hour of play.
Maritsa started the match with a bang and led with 8:4, Marichanka women were decisive in the first game and led with 16:11, and the first part ended after a successful attack by Maria Krivoshiyska for 25:17.
In the second half, Maritsa drew 7:5, but CSKA equalized – 7:7. The hosts led by three points at 12:9. However, this did not upset Borislav Krachanov’s girls, who made a complete turnaround in the result and led by three points – 18:15. The game was won with 25:20 after an attack by Dobrina Hristoskova.
Marichanki made a great start to the third game in which they led 4:1. It reached 8:2, and the middle of the game came at 16:12. The championship point came after a dropped ball by Iva Dudova for 25:15.
No team in Bulgaria has done this, and Marichanki improved their own record, which was until now of 9 consecutive titles in the championship.
