Bojana Slavkova won the largest international poetry competition “Mili Dueli”, being the first Bulgarian author to win the grand prize.

In this year’s 9th edition of the competition, 711 authors from 104 countries participated, with three Bulgarians reaching the final 50.

The young poet won the hearts of the jury and the audience in all five rounds of the competition, which lasted more than a year.

Bojana Slavkova deals with poetry, cinema, visual arts, theater and performance. Her education is musical – she is a flutist, she graduated from NUMSI “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov” in Burgas.

He won various prizes from numerous poetry contests, in many of which he took prizes several years in a row, such as “Veselin Hanchev”, “Petya Dubarova” and “…and I think that you are She!”.

He believes that art is the force that changes the world, shaping people.

The poem with which she participated is called “The Tree with the Obituaries”, and a poetic film was created for it, which received the most points from the organizer of the international competition, Nermin Delic.

The Bosnian started the competition in 2012, when he was only 17 years old. Its aim is to promote peace and tolerance in the world through poetry.
