As Easter approaches, they raise the price of eggs. So far the change is minimal, but it remains to be seen what the egg movement will be in the coming weeks. The wholesale price of eggs last week rose by 2.9% to BGN 0.36 per piece, according to data from the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Markets (DKSBT).

Butter and milk also went up in price. Within a week, the price of butter has increased by 1.5% and they wholesale the 125g packets for an average of BGN 2.65. The price of yogurt has increased by 2.6% in a week and they wholesale the 400g buckets year, on average BGN 1.18. Fresh milk has risen in price by 1.3% and wholesale costs an average of BGN 2.27 per liter.

They also raised the prices of short-lived sausages, including ham. In just one week, their prices increased by 3.6 percent on average to BGN 6.63 per kg, according to DKSBT data on wholesale prices.

Tomatoes and cucumbers are getting cheaper. Over the past week, the prices of imported tomatoes have been reduced by 2.9% and on exchanges and markets they sell them at an average of BGN 2.97 per kg wholesale. Imported cucumbers have become significantly cheaper – by 11.8% to BGN 2.10 per kg wholesale. Prices of Bulgarian greenhouse cucumbers in the wholesale trade fell by 4.3% to BGN 2.90 per kg. Apples have become cheaper by 2.2% to BGN 1.74 per kg wholesale. But bananas and oranges have risen in price – by 3.6% and 4.2%, respectively.
