Acting Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev can also become Foreign Minister, as he has already announced himself that he is ready to take on the responsibility. Rumen Radev has given Prime Minister Glavchev time to think about his responsibilities, and if he is convinced that he can also assume the position of foreign minister, the president has no reason to deny him this, said Presidential Secretary for Legal Affairs Krum Zarkov.

“The current constitutional provisions are the cause of this whole farcical situation. Bulgaria was on the verge of a constitutional crisis, and it would have happened if a candidate for Prime Minister had not been found. Under the new Constitution, if an interim government is not appointed, elections cannot be scheduled. We would have been left in a situation of powerlessness”, said Krum Zarkov.

“I said that there will be no change of the foreign minister. We are waiting to see how the events unfold. If the President issues a decree to take over the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I will be responsible for it as well. In the current composition with Minister Dimitrov, all political responsibility is assumed by President Radev”, said Dimitar Glavchev on the occasion of the crisis with the Foreign Ministry and the requested resignation of Stefan Dimitrov due to his blunders in the early days.
