The dams in Sliven municipality are safe and can be used

A specialized expert council at the Municipality of Sliven adopted analyzes and a security assessment regarding the operational condition of the dams, which are municipal property. Eng. Snezhana Kaneva from the municipal department “Security and crisis management” informed about this, quoted by the municipal press center. These are Elata in the land of the village of Gavrailovo and the dams next to the villages of Nikolaevo, Skobelevo, Chokoba, the area of ​​Karandila and Kapaklii in the land of Staro Selo.

As the owner, the Municipality of Sliven has the legal obligation every two years to carry out a safety assessment of the dams, including dam walls and their facilities, regardless of the fact that a part of them is leased. The conclusion in the analyzes prepared by a specialist in hydrotechnical construction and accepted by the specialized expert council, indicates that all dams – municipal property, are in good technical condition and can be exploited without restrictions, Eng. Kaneva also pointed out.
