Over 120 children participated in the Spring Swimming Tournament “Yambol 2024”

Over 120 children took part in the Spring Swimming Tournament “Yambol 2024”, which was held in the renovated swimming complex at the Vasil Karagyozov Language High School in Yambol. The event was organized by the Municipality of Yambol, the Local Commission for Combating Antisocial Activities of Minors and Juveniles, Sports Club “Modern Pentathlon and Fencing” – Yambol, the Municipal Council on Narcotic Substances and the Preventive Information Center – Yambol.

The deputy mayor of Yambol, Encho Keryazov, opened the competition: “It is an honor for me to once again be a part of such a great event. Swimming is a sport that strengthens the whole body. Good luck to all the athletes!”

The swimmers were divided into several age categories and disciplines, students from 1st to 8th grade were eligible to participate, and the final ranking looks like this:

For the boys of the 1st and 2nd grades in the 25-meter crawl category, Yordan Nakov won the gold medal, the silver went to Pavel Georgiev, and the bronze went to Nikola Yordanov. In the 25-meter backstroke category, Yordan Nakov took first place again, but this time followed by Pavel Chelebiev in second place and Kristiyan Parashkevov in third place.

In the girls’ 25 crawl category, Gergana Gerganova finished first, Veselina Stoyanova took second place, and Maria Madina finished third. In the 25-meter backstroke category, Veselina Stoyanova won the gold medal, the silver went to Gergana Gerganova, and Maria Madina finished third again

For the older children, those from 3rd to 4th grade, boys, 50 meter crawl, Valentino Petrov was the first, followed by Zhivko Muzikantski and Kristiyan Yordanov. In the 50-meter backstroke, Valentino Petrov again grabbed the gold, the silver went to Ioan Nakov, and the bronze went to Kristiyan Yordanov.

Among the girls, in the same age group, in the 50-meter crawl, the first place was awarded to Denitsa Mihova, behind her came second Alice Ivanova, and third was Viktoria Brinkova. In the 50 meter backstroke, Denitsa Mihova was unerring again and finished first, followed by Viktoria Brinkova and Donna Vasileva.

In the 5th to 6th grade age category, for boys, in the 50 meter crawl, Borislav Manchev finished in first place, followed by Stoyan Stoyanov and Teodor Zhelyazkov. In the 50-meter backstroke, Marten Makhchiev won the gold, while the silver and bronze went to Stoyan Stoyanov and Teodor Zhelyazkov again.

In the 50 meter crawl, but among the girls, Maria Georgieva became first, Nikoleta Georgieva finished second, and Dimana Dimova was third. In the 50m backstroke, the rankings looked the same.

In the last age group, 7th to 8th grade, for boys, in the 50 meter crawl, Stiliyan Vichev finished in first place, followed by Stelyan Podikov and Georgi Atanasov. In the 50 meter backstroke, Stilian Vichev and Stelian Podikov again finished first and second, respectively, with the third place going to Martin Ivanov.

In the girls’ 50-meter crawl, Mihaela Koleva finished in first place, Borislava Vasileva came in second, and Ivanela Hadzhieva came in third. The 50m backstroke rankings looked identical.
