The Zentix team from Varna will represent our country of LEGO robotics in Norway

The Zentix team from Varna won first place in the pilot edition of the biggest LEGO robotics festival in Bulgaria LEGO League Challenge in Burgas and will represent the country at the European LEGO Robotics Championship, which will be held between May 14 and 16 in Bodjo, Norway , BTA reported.

In the competition, which took place in the atrium of the Burgas Free University, 24 teams with students between the ages of 10 and 16 from a total of 17 settlements took part.

The Bug Slayers team took second place, and the Burgas Team Mehano ranked third. The other team from Burgas, which was awarded in the “Core Values” category, was from the “Alexander G. Kojakafalia” elementary school. For “Innovative Project” an award was given to the Cybertronic team, for “Robot Design” – the Robo Vikings team, and for “Robot Game” – the Mivka team.

The awards were presented by the Deputy Mayors for Education and Budget and Finance Mihail Nenov and Stanimir Apostolov, Svilen Radev from Dell Technologies, Prof. Dr. Radostin Dolchinkov, Dean of the Center for Informatics and Technical Sciences at Burgas Free University, Valentina Venkova from the Center for Creative training and Vassilis Tanis – program manager of First LEGO League Greece.

The theme of the competition this year was “Masterpiece”. To answer the question of how science and technology help us create, spread and share different interests, hobbies and arts, the teams had to create an innovative project and complete different missions that their robots went through on the “robot battle” stage.

The event also included an exhibition section, where visitors could see some of the largest robotics schools in our country presented at stands. Among them were official as well as author’s models and robots of clubs of Bulgarian LEGO collectors, developments and programs of academies and robotics clubs in Bulgaria from secondary and higher education, developments of business organizations in the field of technology and innovation, and LEGO products Education and FIRST LEGO League.
